Just to clarify my original post:

Now that I've started catching up on the recent archival UFO discussion, I'm more convinced than ever something is wrong with mine. My pedal effort is *very* high when attempting to stop hard. Since the dealer didn't replace the front pads when they replaced the rotors, could my pads be so badly glazed they don't work well? Or should I look elsewhere? TIA
