85 4KQ Quattro/alignment problem

2 things happening 1- front Quattro differential led light does not seem to
come on to show it is engaged (I don't think it is engaging)

When the rear Quattro does engage the car will jerk slightly to the right
and to keep the car going in a straight line I have to turn the steering
wheel 10 degrees to the left.

Anybody know of what might be causing this and a fix?
