Hydraulics, Bleeding vs. Flushing

Good afternoon!

Now, that subject may be a bit misleading. What I mean by it is this...

When you bleed the air out of the hydraulic system (5ktq) by the standard
procedure, how does the air escape? Wouldn't fluid escape that way, too?

I know, you're asking, how often, while driving, do I turn the wheel to full
lock? Well, I've had to do some fast maneuvers in traffic to avoid being
hit,
and almost immediately starting getting hydraulics alarms. Upon stopping
to check, sure enough, the fluuid level would be down below the line, when
I had *just* check it earlier. Top it up, no leaks for a long time, until
the next
center-to-lock maneuver.

Of course, that was a long time ago...

So, when doing a flush, do I actually need to disconnect something to let
the old fluid out, or will it just find it way out?

As always, thanks in advance.... -dq
