Well, I think in the real world it would really not get your money back at all.

You'd have to find an enthusiast to buy it.  The mod to anyone else might come 
under scrutiny, since it's not factory.  It might be perceived to be 
boy-racerish, even if it is done well and correctly.

I mean, even if you had Hoppen or IA do the mod, who is Ned to the average used 
car buyer?

I say build your own, and keep it forever.  Get the enjoyment you can out of 
it.  If you have to sell it, sell it to a q-lister for about a grand more than 
a comparable N/A example would cost.

BTW, I know of an '84 4ksq for sale in AZ for about $1k.
