trickle charger?

With cold weather and short trips I'm sure that the battery on my '92 V8
isn't getting fully charged. It's doing fine for all daily starting (even
for our couple of weeks of -20F) and I had it checked to make sure that the
battery and the charging system were ok. But, when I left it (in a heated
garage) for a couple of weeks last month it wouldn't start when we got home.

It's going to sit for another 10 days in a week and I think my options are:

A. do nothing, if the battery is dead put it on the charger when we get
home (I've got the radio code...)
B. charge the battery before we leave to make sure it's fully charged, if
it's still dead go back to option A
C. get a small trickle charger (maybe one of the ones that goes into the
cigarette lighter socket) and just let it tick over while we're gone
D. put it in the shop to find out what's drawing the current

My thought is that there's enough electronic and electric stuff in this car
that having it go dead on an undercharged battery in a couple of weeks isn't
a big deal, and that a trickle charger would be a good thing. I'm not
(knock on wood) seeing any electrical strange things going on.

If you agree, I'd appreciate a recommendation for a safe trickle charger,
otherwise, I'd appreciate advice.
