Audi Coupe to debut this month

The Audi R8 Coupe that will race under Audi Sport UK colours at the Le Mans
24 Hours is expected to break cover for the first time later this month.

Team manager John Wickham confirmed at Sebring that the car's test program
could start before the end of March.

 "If it doesn't debut then, we will definitely start testing at Paul Ricard
on April 14," he said. A night time curfew at the French track could also
force the team to undertake 24-hour testing at Jerez later in the month.

Wickham went on to explain that, if the car's debut at Le Mans is a success,
it could see further action in the American Le Mans Series. "We would like
to race in the ALMS, but definitely nothing before June," Wickham said.

Wickham was unable to confirm whether the Audi Sport UK team would do a
handful of races in the American series later this year, or undertake an
extended test programme instead.
