polishing paint?

	Has anyone out there tried to polish their clear coated car.  My A4 has the
little scratches that come with time and washing.  I am scared of going to
deep or hurting the finish.  I have to at least wax it, abouttime and I have a
couple of the little dark line/scratches that appear when I touch the car with
my ring  or any other piece of gold( Does anyone else's paint do this, my car
is casablanca white).  Also can anyone tell me how to take the little
scratches out of the speedo cover and the interior wood?
