RE: audi 90 speaker mods.

As best I can tell, the 80 and 90 series doors in those model years are
identical. My father has an 1989 Audi 80, and I have a 1988 Audi 90. They
look identical with the exception of the panel insert material - his is
cloth, mine is vinyl/leatherette to match the leather in my interior.

The enclosure on the link below incorporates the map pocket AND the
enclosure - an approach I hadn't seen til this point. Not a bad idea. I
think the setup in question would provide fairly poor sound separation given
that he's running tweeters in all three spots, and all are at or below knee
level, but as a mid enclosure, it could work well. My only recommendation
would be to move the tweeters higher up on the door - tough doors to work
with though...

I wanted to make a custom speaker enclosure for the front doors on my
88' 90 like these:

rhifi/Doorboards.htm

, these are in an 80, and the guy told me that the doors are different
so i couldn't make this for my 90. I do not see why and how the door
structure would be different between the two cars.
Are they? TIA
