In other words, cranking but no firing would be the symptom damaged
dist. Hall sensor wiring would cause?

Is there a simple way to electrically check that signal?
(What's it look like? I'm not at all familiar with the Hall
effect and related widgets.)

As far as checking for spark is concerned, would lack of this Hall
sensor signal cause teh ECU to cut off fuel, spark, or both?
