Steering Rack Centering

I recently had a fuek line on my S4 changed (under Audi "goodwill").
The dealers "trick"  was to install it was to loosen the steering rack
to gain clearance.  Now it seems that my steering wheel is not
centered.  Am I imagining this or does moving the rack slightly affect
the centering of the wheel and the lock-to-lock (left/right) turns off
center?  If anyone knows I would appreciate a comment before I go back
to the dealer to whine, I mean, forcefully state my concerns.
