RE: Voltmeter - 1990 200TQ 10V - Metal Splice?
I don't seem to have a 'metal splice' in this 1990 200TQ 10V (Dual Knock)
baby of mine.
I have two cables running from a split at the battery terminal running
forward with one going out front directly to the starter and thence the
alternator (where a split runs up to the boosting post)while the other leads
up towards the instrument cluster. This is the setup that appears in the
ETKA CD diagrams.
I thought the problem might have been then at the starter connection which I
took apart cleaned Stab'd and reassembled only to discover that the
alternator is putting out no juice!
Damn!
Is there a quick way to tell of it's the brushes or does this need
professional help. An alternator re&re is no big deal but I hate buying and
installing brushes to find it was a waste of coin.
Any thoughts?
