RE: 4kq rear muffler (+coupe quattro advice)

The last couple mufflers I've gotten were Bosals. After a year and half or
so, it developed a rust hole on the topside! Haven't really figured that
one out. I brazed in some sheet metal to cover it up. We painted the Bosal
on my dad's Rabbit with high temp engine paint. Jury's still out and that.
Any thought's on the paint approach?

P.S. If anyone would like to send me a reply on the side, I'm looking at
maybe getting a Coupe Quattro or an Ur-quattro (gulp) sometime in the not to
distant future. I've been watching to many old rally films on Speedvision,
and I have a hankering for the old quattro, but common sense says to look
for the '90-'91 coupe. I know there's cost, different quattro systems, and
all that rot to consider. So a little advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
