Redline oil, continued
My recent post about the use of Redline oil in the manual transmission has
raised some questions
1. Several people mention using Redline MTL, and is it better/worse than
MT90? (Evidently MT90 is a new product?)
Basically, I naively took my car to a mechanic, and asked for Reline oil
in the transmission, as recommended by the qlist. He used MT90-Q, per the
receipt. Based on the Redline webpage, MTL is a 75W/80W GL-4 gear oil, and
MT90 is a 75W90 GL-4 gear oil. Not much difference, from what I can tell.
The MT90 is a bit heavier? Their description of the two different products
is identical.

2. Do I have a quattro? And, how does the transmission oil interact with
the torsen system?
I have a 2wd Audi, and I do not know how the quattro system work, nor how
it is connected with the transmission.

Happy shifting!
