Weird encounter

It's very sunny here today - in fact, this might be summer.

I was outside washing the car.  I'd just taken it out for a 'drying'
run and came back in usual style, overtaking several cars.  One was
an MGF with two female passengers - hood down and wearing caps.

By the time they came up I'd reversed the car in and was about to clean
off the bits I'd missed.  They stopped and came over for a chat.  Both
models, 'hostesses' or something similar - worked on by beauty care
professionals, well dressed and _very_ well spoken.  They said they'd
never seen a quattro 'up close' and was it really special?

I offered a ride, and the driver accepted, tossing the keys to the
MGF to her friend to follow us so I didn't run away with her.  God
knows what she was thinking of, since they knew where I lived!

Anyway, I made a casual comment about: "See you back here if I lose
you."  This resulting in some winking and nodding between them, a
couple of grins, and the ex-driver saying: "You won't lose _HER_".

Silly girl.
