I habitually drive with the display 'reduced' to just mph and odometer.
If anything else requires my attention, the dash reverts to a full
display.
I did a full front brake rebuild this weekend - new discs, pads,
caliper seals, guide pin boots, grease and backing plates. I've set
the display to the trip, and zeroed it. Then I told 'er indoors: "The
mileage display is how far the car has gone on new pads and discs.
Don't abuse them until it's over 500."
(Has anyone else had trouble with the two bolts holding the carrier
to the hub? Nominal 135Nm - I was winding them out at close to 300.)
