It's not the bulbs, you can use white bulbs on the '85 and still have red
light.It's the light carrying plastic piece.
I had to change that to get white dash on my 4kq.
It is a lot easier to read the odometer during navigational rallies with the
white lighting : )

I like the older tachometer which has 1,2,3 x1000rpm rather than the newer
10,20,30x100rpm too.
