Info Requested On Automatic Tranny and Differential (Non-Q) 1985-5kS

I bought an 85 Avant which had almost 100k mi on it and on which Audit had
just replaced the differential for the third time.

I love the car which otherwise is a beauty in great shape, but wonder what my
options are in replacing or repairing the differential and AT.  The local Audi
dealers are downright hateful and most transmission shops don't understand the
"o" ring problem.  Is there a shop in the Los Angeles/Orange County area which
can fix this problem so it won't be popping up again in 30k miles?
