What is going on here??? help please

hey, i dont know if this is what is meant by bearing play, but here is 
the situation.

I have noticed that in the past couple days, there has been a vibration 
at freeway speeds that has been getting worse.  There has also been a 
squeaking pretty much since i got the car whenever driving....

Anyway, i thoguht that the lug nuts might have somehow worked themselves 
loose, so i jacked up the front of the car and wiggled the front left 
wheel.  I had noticed that when the rotor moved on the hub before, that 
there was a squeaking noise, but i didnt think that would cause the 
squeaking noise while driving cause that would require the rotor to 
actually move on the hub itself.

Well, imagine my surprise when i jacked up the car and wiggled that 
wheel.  It moved alot, ALOT.  I thought for sure that the lugs had come 
loose, but they were very tight.  I kept wiggling it and plan to remove 
the wheel and take a look closer, but what could cause this?

Is this the bearing?  I wouldnt think so since it isnt making any noise, 
and i cant think of what else would allow this much play....its really 
wierd.

i need to find out about this asap as well since i need to drive it to 
work tomorrow and now im nervous to take it anywhere...
