Injector seals and seats.

Hello,

I just redid my injector seals, I also replaced the seats whilst I was there.
I'd been meaning to do this since finishing the head refurbishment back last
Easter! At least one of the seats had a large crack and chunk missing from it
back then.

When I came to take a look at them this time round, two injectors had popped out
almost completely, well the seal was sitting out of the seat at least. We almost
certainly didn't put them in properly last time although I don't remember not
being happy that we'd done it properly. Anyway, I managed to remove all the rest
easily. Some injectors came out without the seal leaving it in place in the seat
to be taken out carefully with a screwdriver. They went back reasonably easily,
especially with the inlet manifold pulled out of the way to give more room.

I reckon we didn't quite push the injectors home properly last time and they must
have popped back out over time, though there is no way to see if this was the
case apart from watching them now to see if they do it. To push them in this time
I used a bicycle cone spanner to give me a bit of room to push on both sides of
the injector with my thumbs, you can reach over the other side of the head with
the rest of your hand and grip quite well until it 'pops' home into the seat.
Strangely it seems to idle a bit better now and it seems a lot smoother but then
after everything I do to my car it always does that (and that includes washing
it!)

Cherio,

Graham.
