audi 90's coupe driver waved

I was on the highway (when my car was running) and was stuck behind some
intelligent drivers going the same speed in both lanes.  A big 7 series
BMW was on my a$$.  Traffic finally cleared and after smoking the bmr a
coupe pulls along side.  He waves...  I'm sure both of them couldn't
figure out how a 4kq pulled on them like that.  They of course didn't
know about the t badge that should be there.
    A lot of new a4-6 owners are snotty and haven't got a clue what
older audis look like.  They only know of their a4.  Most just like the
look of the car, and have no idea what its all about.  It makes me sad
to see new non-Q audis too.
    I do remember one guy in a sweet A4 Avant  2.8Q from NY was racing
us on the highway.  He pulls along side and we both waved to each
other.  We then race.  We were in a chipped GTI VR6.  He was hanging in
there, side by side, I nor the driver could believe it.  We ended up
smoking him while testing the speed limiter removal of the chip.  A
little audi-vw pride, that's less common than audi-audi pride.
    That makes me think,  has anyone with a TAP chip have to ask to have
the speed limiter removed?  I know a kid with a really done up 1.8T A4
who got a chip from them and it still had the speed limiter.  He was
very upset and called them.  TAP then told him you have to ask to have
that removed.  Anyone else encounter this b/s?
