On the 4KS those pins are NOT for clutch alignment, and apparently are only
for use with a diagnostic tool in the models before the ECUs were introduced.
We asked the local shop to clean the face of the fly wheel and they broke them
both off. The car ran anyway. We never needed to used a timing probe, so can't
say for certain that diagnostics is the real reason for their existence. But I
can, along with Phil Rose, guarantee you that the Bentley statement is wrong.
Later.
