Fun cars, but will be a drastic change in terms of shear size. I've found 
that as with the earlier cars ( the S model vs the CS ) there is a difference 
in drivabilty between the 1.8 T and the 2.8 Seems like a quieter less VWish 
drive. the 4 cyl is more noisey as it works harder, with somewhat more 
vibration. Maybe a little "tinney" although I hate to use the term.

 The 2.8 seems to be a little more sedate, but the power is certaily more 
than adequate especially in the higher rpm range where these engines run 
best. On the other hand the 1.8 T can be upgrade substantially if that's what 
you're looking for. I think the race car version is around 350 HP, while 
there is not a great deal that can be done with the 2.8 aside from relieving 
the intake and exhaust. Chips don't seem to accomplish much.
