Re: <All> Mo'Gas prices

Actually, it's my impression that the oil reserves are still really, really,
really
vast...it's just that our drilling techniques aren't good enough to get the
majority
of the oil out of the wells. For years, we've only been getting a small
percentage
of the oil out of any given well before we have to move on. Certainly,
improving
drilling techniques may cost a fortune and push gasoline prices up in the
future
as the oil companies are forced to evolve, but we aren't about to tap the
earth
dry. In any case, gas is cheaper than bottled water right now...and as has
been
said, it's a matter of supply and demand- for the past couple of years the
oil
companies haven't made much money, and now they are getting around to
reacting
by cutting in production- which is perfectly logical. As to when we do run
out of
oil, I think that Steve is certainly right...the prices will rice and we'll
be forced to
innovate; it just isn't going to happen quite yet.
