RE: ticking fuel pump





Don't we wish!  An SU pump will last for years with just an occasional tap with
a hammer.

In fact, I used the same hammer which I carried to occasionally "motivate" the
starter
as well.  ('66 MGB)

But my since current TR6 uses a mechanical fuel pump, the only suspense is which
 lights
will be working after dark.  (I don't fix the little ones... like dash or
sidemarker lights...
I figure it gives me better odds that the head and tail lights will work! ;-)
)

In my Audi experience, Bosch pumps new and old tick regularly.
