You may have missed the fact that someone recently posted a solution to
your problem. He said (somewhat tersely), "remove".

Allow me to amplify on his recommendation. Now that you have the ETKA, open
the hood of your brand-new-under-warranty A4 and begin to _remove_ each
engine component, carefully identifying and checking off each item in the
ETKA listing. Test the component according to the shop manual procedure.
Arrange all in careful order on your garage floor.

Somewhere along the way, one of the components will be found to be missing,
broken, non-functional, loose or disconnected. There, probably, is the
source of your problem. Reassembly is...well, you know. :)
