Need ur-Q (US, WX-engine) Duty Cycle Adjust Procedure

Good Afternoon, listers!

I thought I could intuit/interpolate the proper procedure from the ECU
checkout info on
Scott Mockry's SJMAutoTechnik page and what I've got so far in the 5000 &
4000
Bentleys.

What I'm trying to accomplish, knowing that my car flunked the emission test
on CO
being too high (supposed to 1.23 max, was 3.xx something, from memory, maybe
wrong),
is to lower the CO. I was hoping to do so by getting the OXS duty cycle
correct.

When I measure the duty cycle, I know it's supposed to be warmed up, and I'm
guessing I'm supposed to take readings only when the radiator fan isn't
running.

But am I supposed to have the crankcase breather hose connected,
disconnected
and plugged, or disconnected and unplugged (unlikely, my guess)? What are
the
other test conditions?

As it stands now, warmed up, everything normally connected, I get 44.9
degrees,
or just a hair under 50%. Note: If I disconnect the oxygen sensor, I get the
same
reading. Does this indicate a bad OX sensor? Is this possibly my only
problem?
If so, can I use one of those generic 1-wire jobs that requires a splice? Is
this
reading totally irrelevant because I have not taken the reading under the
proper
test conditions?

Remember, I'm just trying to make this car legal for two years. Once I can
park
it on the street, I gain many more options for further repair. Additionally,
please
forgive me for asking questions that I may well be able to answer myself if
I'd
spend a little time analyzing it and thinking about it, but I'm really
trying hard
*not* to think right now, the little my brain can squeeze out is dedicated
to work
right now.

As always, thanks in advance... -doug q
