Re: Fair Asking Price for 87 Coupe GT????

In a message dated 99-04-08 05:03:35 EDT, you write:

<< I am selling my 1987 Audi Coupe GT. It is red with grey interior, PW, PM,
commerative digital dash and computer, 2.3litre (130hp) about 148K on the >>

Well, first a coupe of things. The special thing about the 1987.5 coupes had
nothing to do with a sunroof, power windows, power mirrors, digital dash or
computer. My car has all those things, as do most 86 and early 87 cars. The
special thing was the engine, four wheel discs, and updated exterior painting
(spoiler should be painted, mirrors and window surrounds of door windows.)
What would you mean by factory body kit? There is an Audi factory front
spoiler which is very rare to come by (I have one on my Q, a couple of
other's I know now have them) that Blaufergnugen has now started selling. If
it just has the rockers/rear spoiler, that is normal treatment. So, in
perfect shape you'd be looking at about 3500-4500 for the car. Take away for
miles, any problems (oil leaking) and you're down in the 2500-3000 range,
assuming that the car is otherwise nearly perfect. Remember, although we
know Audi's run for many miles, 148K is a lot of miles on a car to buy used.
Finally, you again need to look at who you're selling to. As Dwight (I think
it was) pointed out, we're about the only one's who know the difference
between a 87.5 and a 87. Really, very few people know what the hell these
cars are. Good luck, hope you sell to a deserving soul.
