i have a black 98 a6 with both warm & cold packages. if you live
somewhere that gets hot, especially with a dark color car, the warm
weather package is wonderful. solar cells on the sunroof power a fan
that keeps fresh air moving through the car when it is parked in the
sun. this is a significant fan, not like one of those cheap solar
toys you roll up in the side window. the package includes windows
with a titanium coating reflecting a lot of the infrared (as well as
ultraviolet), and they are double-paned. the rear shade seems to
help a little, but not as much as the solar fan and titanium coating.
the only trouble with the coating is that it reflect some frequencies
of radio, as well. most cell phones and pagers will not operate as
well inside the car. i ended up installing a car phone because of
that.
hope this helps,
