Re: Issues rough idle, plus on 93 100csq Avant

Hi Kenneth;

   What year and model Audi do you have?
     Foam in the coolant overflow tank can be indicative of a bad head
gasket/cracked block - anything that would leak combustion gases into the
coolant. A bad head gasket would also give you a rough idle. Incompatible
coolants could foam, but I think they usually sludge. Foam requires gas
mixed with liquid. No stock Audi engine in good condition and tune should
shimmy like a 3/4 cam 327!
    Pull the codes to check for the cause of the "check engine" light. You
may have other problems besides a loose gas cap - this may shed some light
on your rough idle problem.
