864kqstalls after tach increase

Hello folks I have a problem with my 4kq 
symptoms: after starting, it idles rough for about 45 seconds then the 
tach shoots up to about 2100 with no corresponding increase from the 
enginne and then it cuts out even with a foot on the gas!
I seemed to have triggered this problem myself.  it started after i 
had changed the positive wire from the battery to the starter. I also 
had taken off those hoses around the fuel injectors, might this be 
connected, or is it something electrical? hope not.  also probably not 
related but my air conditionr belt had come off a few weeks ago, so i 
put that back on.  any suggestions would be great !!!!
