Phil, 

I have an alternate technique I developed, inadvertently, while trying to 
follow your simple clamp & pry technique. Goes like this:

Clamp injector. Pry. Snap injector in half at about o ring level. Panic. 
Insert self taping screw into injector center. Cut away at dried o ring that 
is stuck to everything it can be. Remove entire old o ring. Lift out 
remaining injector half using screw as handle. Breathe a sigh of relief.
