mystery coupe ground strap?

Greets-

today i found a mystery ground strap, affixed to the side of the battery
pan.  The loose end looked like it had been unattached from it's home
for along time--much gunk covered the free connector.  

It's about 5 inches long, uninsulated copper braid.  Anyone know where
he wants to be?  The valve cover?  (which is already grounded, more
toward the front of the bay) 

Bentley says nothing specifically, and I don't have the Rosetta stone
needed to read wiring diagrams...
