Take a look at the lifter, you can even look through the oil filler cap,
these cars should not have the plastick camshaft splash cover.If you can
see the adjusting disc than it's a solid lifter.
If you can not see the adjusting disc i.e. the lifters top apears to be one
piece with the sides than it's a hydraulic.
The 2.22l engines in 4kq had them in 1984.  I think the Coupe still had the
2.14l in '84 with solid lifters.
