If your trolley jack, like most, has a removable plate that supports the load,
you may be able to fashion a homemade tranny fixture.  Typically there is a
peg/hole arrangement that secures this.  I helped a friend rig a jack with a
saddle made of 2x4's and angle iron, that then bolted down through this hole.
You have the tranny out so that you can build it in the open, should be easy.
These jacks are so cheap, I think he even has one a dedicated to this purpose
now.
