Ur-Q wheel/tire combos...

>Jim, have you test fit this size wheel and tire combo? The reason I ask

On my '85, I have 235/40-17s on 8x17 Compomotive MOs with a 33mm offset and
they rub slightly on the passenger-side firewall at full lock. With a 45mm
offset wheel, there's just enough room under the OEM rear fenders to clear a
245/40-17 Goodyear GS-CS racing tire with a 10.5" tread width without any
rubbing whatsoever. Unfortunately, this can't be said for the front of the
car since the same wheel/tire combo rubs on the steering arm so hard the
wheel can't be bolted on and it also touches the fender lip.

They sure do look nice painted pearl white against a red car, though. :^)
