CGT Stock Radio Replacement

I'm looking into replacing my cassette radio player with a cd player.  
The cassette player I have now is the original one that came with the 
car and now has quite an appetite for juicy, fresh tapes.  I looked over 
the Crutchfield website and according to them, nothing they have will 
fit an 87 CGT.  However, when I looked at the specs for a 4kq, there 
were plenty to choose from.  My questions are:

1) Am I mistaken in believing that a radio that will fit into a 4k will also 
fit into a CGT (of the same model year) given the similarities in the 
dashes?

2) Does anyone know the dimensions of the stock radio in a CGT, so 
that I can make a choice as to the upgrade?  

3) Any BTDT's
