yeah, at the plumbing company i work for, we use dielectric unions to be
able to join galvanized lines with copper lines. Galvi and copper dont
like each other too much, or maybe its that they like each other too much
and there is plenty of electrolysis. The unions are made of brass and
galvi, with a rubber insulator between the two. The brass is swetted
(soldered) onto the copper and the galvi is threaded onto the old galvi
line...
works pretty well...and i am learning how to install a water heater
tomorrow...cool, already know how to solder copper, install a toilet,
hmm...this time off of school is paying off a bit....
