I love this!, nothing like a good experiment.

In the 1992 S4 I did the other day, after flushing out the system, I used 3
bottles of the 1,5 litre Pentosin non-phosphate Coolant, along with some
distilled water. According to the Pentosin bottle, a 1:1 mix provides
protection down to -37C.

The Bentley indicates the system holds 9 litres

You can remove the rear heater hose from the back of the engine block, and
use the radiator drain pet-cock to drain out the existing coolant into a
suitable pan. I would also recommend replacing the thermostat and O-ring.
You can flush out the block by running water through the T/Stat opening,
the rear block connection , the heater hose (through the heater core), and
by running water into the coolant reservoir. I use some compressed air to
carefully blow out the remaining tap water before refilling with the
Pentosin and distilled.

You can also use the distilled to give it a final flush of the system.
After installing the T/Stat and re-connecting all the hoses, tightening the
pet-cock, I like to remove the top radiator hose and fill the block up
first, then fill up via the reservoir.
