Troubleshooting diff locking...please help
hey all, i just updated the diff lock system on my UrQ, and i dont know
how long ago it was that the diffs were locked at all...
Anyway, everything is hooked up right, its getting vacuum, but the center
diff wont lock. I had it up on 4 jack stands, and let it sit in gear for
a while and tested the locks, when i would put it to position 1, nothing
would happen, when i put it to position 2, which would cause both to
lock, only the rear would lock.
I know that it (the center diff) is getting vacuum as when i move the
little knob, i can hear the vacuum hissing out...so what could it be? I
suppose that the actuator could be frozen, but what is the best way to
fix that?
It still has the old style actuator where the cable from the rear
activates the front...
i know that the center diff actuator works, the one mounted on the tranny
as i tried to force it to lock manually last weekend. I could move it
from that part, but i couldnt get the rear part to budge...maybe that is
the problem? Should i wd-40 it or something?
thanks in advance...
later...
