I'm not really sure what you mean. If you take the interior
door panel off, it gets a lot easier, but you usually still
have to take off the door handle on the outside. The hard part
may be getting the upper collar, where the rod fits into the
lever mechanism of the door handle, off the rod. If you can
twist it toward the inside of the car, it should unclip and let
you pull the rod out.
This is hard without pictures.
