I don't think it's just an issue of cost per person. I'm on several lists;
get the quattro list via digest. Untrimmed posts and quoted headers, sig
lines that include jokes etc. that I've read 100 times, HTML,
attachments.......... they seem to waste a lot of my time and energy.
Remember that we're currently 1200 plus people (plus those who browse the
list archives) and that's a lot of waste.
Dan's always had suggested rules, mostly for courtesy: put attachments on a
web site and post the URL; trim posts; don't reply while quoting the entire
digest; keep it civil or take it private, etc.
I do like sigs that include car info (year, model, miles, etc.) as well as
where you're located (especially when you're selling a car!).
