I was seriously considering the A4 1.8t but my problem was the leather too.  
I love the turbo(easy upgrades) but I can't stand fake leather OR 
cloth(spoiled).  So what I did was I told the dealer to install it for me.  
For the same price it would of cost to put it in a 2.8.  Some dealers(Honda, 
Nissan, etc etc) sub contract leather installs.  Some cars don't even come 
with leather when it gets to the dealer.  So demand it, and I'm SURE they 
will install it for you for the price of the 2.8 version.  And there is also 
aftermarket install.
