Folks, PLEASE turn off MIME encoding in your email to the Q-List.
It doesn't wreak havoc in single messages, but for some mail programs
(including Eudora, which was #1 until recently), it destroys the
formatting of the Digest. It also posts your entire message TWICE,
once in text and once in pseudotext. Sorry for wasting bandwidth
here, but perhaps it can cut down on the long-term waste.
Here is an abbreviated and annotated example of what it does...

Any btdt's on a type 44 climate control blowing heat when you have the
temp
knocked way down or a/c is needed. Gets kinda warm inside when the vents
are blowing out bunch-o heat on 75 degree days.
- -----------------
IME, that's often caused by the flap controller motor getting stuck. Run
the
diagnostics in the Bentley manual; should point at the error.

This following MIME message destroyed the formatting, and it posts the

I have a 1990 90CQ (20v), and have a problem that I'd like to solve
=
ASAP.
I brought my car in to my mechanic to fix a few things (new timing belt,
=
water pump, injector seals, and cam seal) and now something =
happened--after doing all this, the car started and ran fine for a
=
couple of minutes, he revved it and it all was well--but then the car
=
died and now will not start again. He thinks it's the distributor
=
(recently changed the distributor cap) -- he says it's not
sparking.
If anyone has any BTDT or maybe something that should be obvious but
=
could've been looked over, *please* help. I'm in a slight predictament
=
here.
Thanks!

1999 21:58:40 EDT From: River6822@aol.com Subject: 88 80 q tires I
recently purchased new tires for my car and in my infinite wisdom, I got
the wrong size. They are 205 60 15's, I wanted 50's. They fit fine in the
front, no rubbing under any conditions. They do, however rub in the back
under a heavy load situation. Situation being an adult in the back seat
and hitting this large "dip" in the road. I can't tell where
the rubbing is occurring. It doesn't seem to leave marks on the tire
(either sidewall) or the car at all. I think the outside wall of the tire
might just be touching the little lip on the fender, but I'm not sure.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. River6822@aol.com 88 80q

in the process of trying to find a good alternative for a tire jack. I
bought one at Wal Mart a few days ago that looked like it might fit the
bill. I bent it yesterday trying to jack up my car! So, that will be
returned soon. I will let you know when I find something. I am looking
for a tire jack that can easily support the wieght of these vehicles and
yet is compact and light. I have heard a few listers tell me Volvo OEM
jacks are very tough. I may have to try to find one of those. I'll let
you know if I find anything that fits the bill. Later, Dan -
