Re: need UPDATE on Jamex Strut Brace Group Purchase
Ken,
I somehow have been bumped from the 20v list as I have not seen any of the
e-mails. Sorry!
Jamex USA called today and the next batch of front (and rear if you ordered
and paid for a rear bar for the CQ) bars will be shipped to us on April 29,
1999. They should be here in Portland, Oregon by Monday. If they arrive
next Monday, they will be shipped out next Tuesday via USPS Priority Mail.
THESE BRACES ARE BEING SHIPPED ONLY TO THOSE WHO HAVE PAID. As the checks
have come in, I date stamped and numbered each envelope. The braces are
being shipped out in the order that I have received checks.
Those who have sent payment should have received (right before this
message) a direct e-mail update from me.
The Jamex factory representative indicated that our order accounts for all
that the factory will produce for the next 6 months! As Jamex never
anticipated such a demand, the supply is limited. IMPORTANT: There will
NOT be enough front stress braces if everyone sends me a check.
45 people said they wanted front stress braces. I could only get 40.
Assuming everyone that said they wanted a brace actually is willing to pay
for it, the last 5 and any second brace orders will have to wait the 6
months indicated by the Jamex factory rep. The only other option is to pay
almost twice as much and buy one from 2Bennett, Blau, or TAP -- assuming
their inventory holds out!
To date, I have received checks for 30 front stress braces and 3 rear CQ
stress bars. I have yet to determine what is the most fair way to collect
money for and distribute the as of yet unallocated remaining 10 front braces.
I'm partial to the first paid, first served approach, but that gives people
on the West Coast an advantage! I'm open to suggestions, but since Ken
Keith put this together, maybe we should let him decide.
On a related note, beginning July 1, 1999, Jamex USA will NO longer sell
direct to retail customers. All retail purchases will have to be made
thought an authorized Jamex dealer. We hope that you will chose Ksquared
Motorsports for all your future Jamex purchases.
Sincerely,
John Karasaki
Ksquared Motorsports
