85 Coupe OXS reset mechanism
Just bought an 85 Coupe GT. Excellent vehicle. Minor issues, of course:
shifer bushings, etc. I have two questions:
(1) The OXS light was on when I bought it. I took the instrument cluster
housing off and discovered the nifty metal rod/hook that is supposed to
actuate the reset mechanism bar. The reset bar, when pulled towards the
roof of the vehicle does not make a satisfying clunk like the FAQ said it
would; it just kind of moves with a grinding sort of resistance. My fear
is that the mechanism is just shot (168k). In any case, the light just
stays on. Am I actuating the right actuator? The FAQ said the reset
thingy is over the speedometer, but the only thing I could find was over
the center of the cluster between the speedo and tach.
(2) Could someone quickly tell me what is usually wrong when a window won't
go up and down? Passenger side, in this case.
Thank you.
