Haudi from South of the equator.
Not much Audi content, miscellaneous ramblings to check the server.
Seems like everytime I go away for a few weeks everything changes. I
managed to bi-pass the "out of country" prohibition against downloading
the juno email program by using "anonymizer" to mask the borrowed ISP
account I'm on now, so I can access my email.
Lots of A3's here in Brazil, see them everywhere. New model S cars can
be seen in packs on the weekends in higher scale neighborhoods. Will be
in Sao Paulo next week where I'll take another drive of the S8, last time
I was here I spent almost two hours in traffic to "roll" 16 clicks. The
radio works good.....
Went to an antique car show in Aguas de Lindoia over the weekend, made
friends with a Collector, got to drive a 1926 Packard Twin Six unto the
platform to receive a trophy (owner had won 6 that day, best of show
going to his 1926 Cadillac Laudaulette). Very little Auto Union
presence, just run o the mill DKW's. If I have time will be visiting a
collector here who is into German Iron, he brought only a 600Limo and SL
roadster to the show, but invited me to stop by his warehouse to see his
Horch and Maybach amoung other things. Will post pictures to my website
when I get back.
I'm hoping someone on the list can help me with 2 problems I'm having, I
need to find out if there is a stamped Vin# somewhere on a 1994 Z28
Camaro, I've been given the car to use for my stay here, but the
insurance companies won't insure the car unless they can do a pencil
trace over the Vin, which is impossible with the stick on label,
windshield is too close to front tag. There was discussion of Audi Vins
a while back, maybe someone managed to snag one of those Vin locator
books? Or can tell me where I can get one?
Horch Identification: Any place where Vins can be looked up to check on
whether the body is original to the chassis?
"See" you all on the list when I get back.
