2232 going ape..resolved!
Well, a special thanks to Kirby Smith, Todd Young, Robert Meyers, Alexander
van Gerbig and all who responded to my 'flashing Engine Check light' email.
THOSE DAMN MANIFOLD GROUNDS!
I've cleaned, tightened and dinked with those things twice before - I guess
the third time is the charm.
I took off the two copper leads, hit them with the wire brush on the drill,
scrubbed the stud and the metal retainer with a wire brush, then threw a
star washer on for good measure. I cleaned the nut and reassembled. The
flashing engine check light is no more.
Now, unfortunately, I violated the cardinal rule of the scientific method -
while I was under the hood, I took contact cleaner from a spray can and
cleaned the various connectors to the ISV, Potentiometer, Regulator, etc.
None of them were exceptionally dirty, however, and I suspect this
additional effort had little to do with the silencing of the flashing Engine
Check light.
Gotta love them gremlins... =)
Thanks again,
Dan Sinclair
