My 83 ur-Q and my 84 Coupe has headrests built-in to the rear seatback.
But in the photo of your car, I couldn't see the seatback headrests.
Thus my comment... but you do have them, and they were merely obscured
by the front headrests (and the limited image resolution)?

I bought an extra parcel shelf for the Coupe a few years ago, but never
got around to using it. Having known of your plywood arrangement for
a while, putting mere speakers into another parcel shelf just didn't
seem like much of a big deal. But then again, it was looking like the
Coupe was at the end of its life. Once my transmission arrives, though,
it will have new life.
