V6 vs. VR6

I was wondering about why more direct comparisons of the Audi 10v V6 and
the VR6 haven't been made. The horsepower and torque is similar at similar
rpms (I won't post numbers because I don't wanna post wrong info).The hp
peak of the V6 is at 5500 (of course??!). Anyway, the V6 has never been
referred to as a lively motor while the VR6 always has praises sung about
it's torque and performance. I guess the best comparisons can be drawn
between the Passat VR6 and the OLD (44k) A6 fwd? Better weight comparison
is the A4 10v, fwd?

Is there a weight difference in the motors? Does anyone have direct
experience with both of them?
