I am on the A2_16V list.  To get on the list try www.A2-16V.com or 
www.16vgti.org.  We mainly cover the A2 16 V chassis but everything from A1's 
to A4's (VW and Audi) are discussed.  As for the exhaust suggestions 
everybody on the list will tell you to get a TechTonics.  I have one in my 
Golf and love it quiet yet when you get on the gas lets those pesky Hondas 
know you mean business.  As for suspensions that is like asking what tires 
should I get everyone will tell you a different brand.  The 16 V swap into an 
A1 chassis from what I understand is pretty easy.  The only hard part is you 
need to get a Scirroco header and down pipe because an A2 header and down 
pipe will interfere with the steering rack. And you need the CIS-E with knock 
sensor ignition.  you could run the CIS but with the compression so high why 
risk detonation because you were cheap. Hope this helps
